Aug 28, 2010 - @abenice Lyoto Machida did point fighting in karate tournaments in brazil before moving to mma. And to say that didn't pay off for him is just stupid. Granted he did also cross train in other martial arts as is necessary to be successful in mma but point fighting did have a large influence on his fighting style.

Mar 13, 2009 - raymond could make some noise in mma but he would need to work big time on his clinch (since he doesnt even have a thai clinch) and ground game. He could but Im not sure if his ego will let him.

Feb 25, 2009 - Judo has more in common withGreco - Roman wrestling than other Asian martial arts. That's why both have been successfully combined in modern MMA.

Feb 25, 2009 - No i do no i mearly see a twist in my wording. As judo prooves, anyone can grab someone, an throw them to the ground then keep them their. That shows only technique, nothing more.

Feb 20, 2009 - If that is the case , Daniels is pathetic for being taken down by an unsophisticated grappler. Do you not see the irony in your own statement?

Feb 20, 2009 - Grabbing someone an throwing them to the floor. Then pummeling them, not vry sophisticated if you ask me. True martial arts uses all aspects. This is Just pathetic!
Elchupucabra Says:
Feb 19, 2009 - You don't know MMA. Go to the nearest grappling instructor , have your ass handed to you , and then tell me it's unsophisticated.

Jan 24, 2009 - the ground game is more of a chess match then you might suspect. there's a lot of stuff to know about grappling. it's more about who knows more then you think.
clangersrule Says:
Jan 24, 2009 - Fair, but its boring an unsophisticated an dosnt really show so who knows more. It seems whoever cets themself in the best position wins. That to me is not mma.
teamventure08 Says:
Jan 17, 2009 - hugged him to death? if my memory serves me right a saw him get choked out. if you don't tap from a rear naked choke when it's applied correctly, you go unconcious i've seen it happen many times. and yeah mma is a tournament where holds are allowed and the true martial arts comes out that's already happened and grappling dominated until people learned both grappling and striking.
